This book is a story of a stray alley cat, Aldwyn, living in the mythical city of Bridgetower. One day, he gets into a chase that winds him up in a familiar shop. Familiars are animal companions to wizards and sorcerers. Aldwyn, ho has no special powers, gets chosen by Jack, a young wizard in training. they are lead by the teacher, Kalstaff, to the training place, there he meets other familiars named Skylar an Gilbert. Together they must rescue their loyals( owners) from the evil witch Loranella. Will they succeed?
