This book was an excellent read. Not only did the characters come to life, but the book makes you feel sympathetic to their storybook lives. The main character's name is Tess who without a doubt loves to read, and fish with her father. Her little sister Libby on the other hand is obsessed with Monopoly. So Tess is devastated to hear that the island school she attends might close down due to the fact that there aren’t enough students (since her friend moved to "the mainland") for the state of Maine to provide the island with school resources. To solve this dilemma the island decides to have the citizens foster children in their homes. So, Tess is now stuck with Aaron the kid she thought she would finally befriend. He might not be the friendliest kid she's ever met, but it doesn't matter because Problems get solved anyway. This exciting novel should be next on your list.
