The science of breakable things by Tae Keller

This book is about a girl who’s mother is depressed. Her mother got fired from a job where she worked on Cobalt Blue Orchids, these magical plants ( well not really magical, but still) that somehow survived toxic waste in Mexico 🇲🇽. The girl and her mother planted one in their garden . When her mother got depressed the girl’s dad watered the plants to much and they all died, including the orchid. When Natalie’s (the girl) teacher wants her to do the egg drop which has a grand prize of $500 Natalie is determined to win. If she wins the money she can buy her mother plane tickets to fly to Mexico and get more Cobalt Blue Orchids! This book is about adventure, twists, friends, and family. It’s a great book and you should read it!!! :)
