Liar and Spy by Rebecca Stead

This book is about a boy who lost a best friend, moved ( into a different house in the same neighborhood) and his father lost a job. He is frequently bullied in school. When he moves in he meets a boy his age at some “spy club”. At first he thinks it will be some seven year old’s fantasy, but the boy seems to handle it all seriously. He deals with the mysterious Mr.X at home and with violent bullies at school. With all this going on will he manage to cope with friends, enemies, plans, and Mr. X???? Will he manage to follow the rules and handle every situation like he should???? He could if he wanted to, but this book isn’t about following the rules. This book is about breaking them!!!
