The hate u give is about a 16 year old girl named Starr. she used to go to a mainly diverse school. but now she goes to a private school where there are barely any people of color there. The kids at her old school don't really talk to her because she goes to a mainly white school.One night he friend gets shot by a police officer... I would recommend this book to anyone who likes books about looking in a persons perspective about something horrible that happens and how they get though it and so on. This is a inspired book by something that happened in 2009 where a boy got shot. This is a great book and i'm still reading it. And if you turn out to like it you should go see in theaters
