Describe a part of the book that made you feel something strongly (i.e. something that made you cry, laugh, get really angry, etc.).
Being Jazz by Jazz Jennings is an autobiography about the life of a transgender teen and an advocate for transgender and LGBTQAI+ rights in America. This book was amazing. I'd give it five stars. One part of the book that horrified me was how ignorant and horrible people could be, in Jazz's life, and in other people. Some of the earliest challenges Jazz faced trying to be her true self were the gender roles and unacceptance at her preschool. She wasn't seen as a girl, and yet the world around her was made up of "girl" this and "boy" that, and so she was placed in the "boy" category because of what she looked like on the outside. For the rest of her life, she would face many challenges, and also hear about so much suffering from other people through the TransKids Purple Rainbow Foundation and more. Read. This. Book. Now!
