The Baby-Sitters Club Claudia and Mean Janine by Raina Telgemier and Ann M. Martin is an amazing book about sisters, Claudia and Janine, who hate each other. At one point in the book, a tragic event occurs which makes both Claudia and Janine come together to fix the event. In this whole book, the tragic event also makes Claudia learn many things about Janine and vice versa.
