Inside Out & Back Again is about a 10/11 year old girl named Ha. This book is in verse and it takes place in Vietnam. Some of the words in this book are Vietnamese that make it harder to read, but if you look around the text, you can get the idea. Ha has 3 brothers, brother Khoi, Vu, and Quang, they do have a mother, but their dad was in the navy and went missing. They don't know if their dad is still alive or not. Their family goes through lots of challenges throughout the war. Ha loves her papaya tree and doesn't want to leave it, but they have to move to America, away from the war. They get sent to Alabama and get sponsored. There, they live their lives. Ha has a hard time in school, but will she get through it? Is their father still alive? How will they get through the Struggles?
