Dread Nation by Justina Ireland

Describe a part of the book that made you feel something strongly (i.e. something that made you cry, laugh, get really angry, etc.).

A part of this book that provoked a strong emotional response was the mistreatment of the main character, and the dehumanization of all of the African American and Native American characters by the evil characters in this story. This book (which is set just after the civil war),also made me realize the whole extent of the aftermath of slavery, and the senseless pain that was and is inflicted due only to something one can not control: their skin colour.
