The Giver by Lois Lowry

It's about a boy named Jonas who lives in a society that choose everything for you and Jonas's job was something that made him realize a lot of things in life that are important to know. Lois Lowery's point of veiw to this is that she thinks that is what might happen and the government would be keeping secrets and taking away the past with out giving anyone the decision of anything that is part of their life.
