Egg & Spoon by Gregory Maguire

In Egg and Spoon, a young poor Russian peasant girl named Elena meets a girl on a wealthy train that crashed by her village named Cat. Their lives are reversed when the train leaves with Elena on board and Cat stuck in the village with a Faberge egg, meant as a present for the Tsar's godson. Elena has to learn how to be Cat in her fancy life while Cat has to deal with the mysterious and crazy Baba yaga, and her talking cat. The adventures of these characters are funny and exciting.
