Locomotion by Jacqueline Woodson

Locomotion sounded like a terrible book at first, because I didn't like books in poetry. It turned out to be a pretty good book though! The only thing that I found dissatisfying was the ending of the book. Locomotion is a book about a boy whose parents died in a fire, and his sister and him got adopted to different Mommies. (One funny thing is that I thought that Lonnie was a girl at first!) Lonnie Co. Motion was called Locomotion by his parents. Lo-Co-Motion. He also liked to dance the Locomotion. His life was hard, being away from his sister, and they seemed to be growing farther apart. I can't say too many things about this book, because I can't really reflect on poetry, but I'm doing my best. As I said, the ending felt dissatisfying. Here's why: the ending basically just fades out on Lonnie and his sister talking about God. In all, I think this book wasn't too boring, but it's not the kind of thing that I'd read voluntarily. (This was my summer reading book.) CHECK IT OUT
