Lily and Dunkin by Donna Gephart

This may contain spoilers. Read at your on risk.
SPOILERS.

So lily and dunkin is the story of a girl trapped in a boys body and a boy dealing with a bipolar disorder. Lily deals with an unsupportive dad, bullies in school, and feeling lost. Dunkin deals with his disorder, being unable to cope with moving and his dad killing himself, and fitting in at school while doing the right thing. This story is beautifully told and deals with real issues kids can have. A prediction I have for the characters of this story is that a majority of the characters mentioned are some part of LGBTQ+. Lily is transgender, it’s hinted that dunkin is attracted to lily, Lily’s friend Dare is seen dancing with a girl at a school dance and have been “close friends” throughout the story. Dunkin also dances with lily at the school dance at the end of the book.
In conclusion, this book is amazingly well told, is relatable to some kids, and is has a dog in it. And everybody loves dogs. So yeah I loved this book.
