Ghost: Jason Reynolds

Describe a part of the book that made you feel something strongly (i.e. something that made you cry, laugh, get really angry, etc.).

In the book Ghost, Castle is being bullied about where he lives and his mother being poor, one day he snaps after a class mate sees his shoes that he cut to run better in track. He skips school and feeling humiliated about his ratty sneakers, goes to a sporting goods store and steals a pair of silver track shoes. At track practice before the first meet, Coach is passing out uniforms, everybody gets a uniform except Castle, Castle asks Coach "why don't I have a uniform?" Coach replies," oh, here's your uniform." he hands Castle a piece of folded paper, "open it." says coach. On the piece of paper it is a picture of Castle dashing out of the sports store, underneath written in red is the word SHOPLIFTER. Coach makes Castle sit out practice. when he drives Castle home, the car ride is silent, until they get to Castles house, coach starts to go in, Castle stops him,

What happens next?

Read the book to find out! (I give this book 5 stars!)

Castle likes to be called Ghost, it's his secret nickname for himself, (hence the title) Castles father was a drunk, he abused his wife, and his son. One night, Castles mother had enough, she told him off. It backfired. She woke up Castle, "We gotta go," she said to Castle, " come on!" she yelled she tok my hand and we ran down the hall, he looked down the hall and Castle saw his dad with a bloody lip and a pistol is his hand, "don't make me do this terri!" he called, Castle heard his father cocking the gun, BANG! The bullet whizzed past him and his mom. The bullet urged Castle faster, and faster and faster, they were running from death, there was no stoping.

Want to know what happens? then what are you waiting for! read the book allready!
