I Survived: The Great Chicago Fire, 1871 by Lauren Tarshis

Describe a part of the book that made you feel something strongly (i.e. something that made you cry, laugh, get really angry, etc.).

It really got me when Jennie told the depressing story of how she and her little brother, Bruno’s dad died right after Bruno was born in an accident. How her mom died because she was sick. How they had to live in the merciless streets of Chicago that is full of ruthless criminals. And now, they lost their only home, a little wooden cottage devoured by the great roaring fires that suddenly started out of the blue.
