SPOILER ALERT!!! I usually try not have spoilers, but this is the second book in a series (Bravelands) so it might spoil the first book.
I love Erin Hunter. I have read almost all of her other books. (Warriors, Survivors, Seekers.) I love Bravelands, too, but there's one thing that caught me off guard. It's SUPER dark! Pretty much everyone dies, and in horrible, painful, ways. I read this late at night when I was already super overtired, and I couldn't sleep. Just everything about the book was super dark. So, for how good it was, but I think I have to take off half a star because of its effect on me. Only half a star, though, because it's not really the author's fault.
