If you could rewrite one part of the story, what would you change?
While crossing borders and riding trains through southern and central America, Jamie and his cousin Angela make friends with other travelers also making the same dangerous journey. But the group must separate and go their own ways in the middle of the book. But as the main character, Jamie, describes, in the end, they can only hope and pray that their friends got where they needed to go safely. This difficult journey from country to country can cause people to feel alone. For Jamie and his cousin. This loneliness was forgotten when they met their friends, a group of kids who had a strong impact on their lives. If I could rewrite one event in the story, I would have the group reunite at the end. It would give the characters a stronger more permanent connection and the book an even happier ending.
