Katie is starting middle. Her mother is a dentist but wanted to be a chef. Her father left her and her mother, when Katie was a baby. Her best friend Callie leaves her on the first day of school for some popular mean girls. She almost misses the bus and can't find a seat. Next to Mia, Mia from Manhattan. She just moved here from Manhattan because here parents just got divorced. Unlike Katie she visits her dad every other weekend. She also has a soon to be stepfather Eddie. As Katie navigates her way through middle school you get to follow her. As she meets Emma, Alexis and George and as she and her friends create the Cupcake Club. She has her ups and downs with Callie as they both make new friends.
