Among the Brave by Margret Peterson Haddix

If this book were set 100 years in the future or the past from when it takes place, what might be different about the plot, characters, etc.?

It doesn't have to be 100 years. If this was happening in the past, I'd be scared to death. If this was happening now, I'd save my breathe for the next generation. If this is going to happen in the future, I'd die of anxiety. Imagine, this is happening to Luke and all the other third children. The population law doesn't even make sense. What if you had 3 children already?? Force them into hiding? Trey had to be brave. it didn't have to be like the Superman, the man of steel or the almighty Wonder Woman. I went to CitySprouts. Yes, garden work involves ENDLESS swarm of insects and bugs. Though I scream, though I panic, I stayed. I'm even more scared of bugs and insets, but I just know, sometimes, you just have to panic and scream and run around like crazy to be brave. Like Trey. He was scared to his death, and he thought Lee--Luke was brave, 'cause he panic every time he goes outside, but no one cares if they wer e having a fit. You just have to do anything, do be brave, or at least, act brave. (You'll feel brave, trust me.)
