This book is about Cather (Cath for short), the biggest Simon Snow fan in the whole wide world, along with her sister. In her alternate universe, Simon Snow is like a version of Harry Potter, in which Draco Malfoy (Baz) is a vampire in addition to being a wizard. Also, he's Simon's roommate. Hermione is Agatha, and there's Penelope, who is like Simon's sister. I guess that could be Ron. Cath is a big fan of having Simon and Baz fall in love (Yes, Draco and Harry). Anyways, she's off to college, and her twin sister, Wren, decides that for the first time in 18 years, they should split up. Wren is soon partying non stop, getting drunk, hiding things from Cath, and getting farther and farther away from the fandom. Cath's roommate, Reagan, is almost never home. Her not-so-kinda-maybe-boyfriend, though, is always around. He's always smiling, and very charming. Her fiction writing teacher doesn't want fanfiction. She thinks it's just copying an author's work. ( MY opinion is different) Cath's life is full of fanfiction. In fact she's the author of a very popular fanfiction as Magicath called Carry On, Simon. Some people even think her writing is better than the author's.
Cath's classmate is handsome, nice, but he only likes Cath for her writing. Like Cath says, once the notebook is closed, the light goes out of his eyes.
Not only that, but Cather's not sure if her dad can handle being on his own. After all, he was never the same when their mother left them.
