If this book were set 100 years in the future or the past from when it takes place, what might be different about the plot, characters, etc.
Well, not exactly 100 years but I'd want about to the time when Gandhi existed, 'cause Dave seems like he's kinda learned the lesson from the book about Gandhi, and I think it would be cool, if he read a book about Gandhi, and met Gandhi after not talking for about a week- (Boys VS girls), and knows why he stopped talking. Though Dave could ask the teachers and read more about him and stuff explaining why he stopped talking, but instead he took it in to action!!!
