Would you recommend this book? If so, who would you recommend it to, and why? If not, why not?
I recommend the book Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer to all those Harry Potter, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, or Star Trek fans of the world, because it is the perfect mix of humor, fantasy, action, adventure, and sci-fi. It is about a 12-year-old child prodigy, Artemis Fowl II, who manages to capture a fairy, and the action leads him on a great battle of wits, money, and strength. The comic relief, Mulch Diggums, an incredibly flatulent dwarf who seems to never stop being smart-aleck-y even in the face of deathly... well, death! All of the other characters in the books drop a joke at one time or another, so there is an ever-constant flow of crude, rude, and witty humor interwoven into the format of the book.
I also like the rest of the Artemis Fowl series and other books by Eoin Colfer:
#1: Artemis Fowl
#2: Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident
#3: Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code
#4: Artemis Fowl: The Opal Deception
#5: Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony
#6: Artemis Fowl: The Time Paradox
#7: Artemis Fowl: The Atlantic Complex
#8: Artemis Fowl: The Last Guardian
And other books by Eoin Colfer:

And more!
