What character(s) in this book would you most and least like to be friends with, and why?
Shabanu: Daughter of the Wind is a book about a young girl named Shabanu who lives in the deserts of Pakistan. Her, sister, who is is only thirteen, is betrothed to a family friend, and Shabanu will be betrothed soon too. However, a horrific accident causes Shabanu to have to marry a rich man for whom she does not know and dislikes. Shabanu has to find a way to not marry him and keep living the life which she had before, with her family.
Of the major characters in this book, I would like to be most friends with Shabanu because she is kind and does not want to submit to the sexist way of life in the deserts of Pakistan. I would not like to be friends with her dad because he forces Shabanu to get married.
