Gosh, this book was so gory! I knew the California Gold Rush was bad, but I didn't know it was THAT bad! Like, they had to resort to cannibalism? *gag*
It was interesting though! It kept me on my toes, wondering if they'd make it through, and at what cost.
But VERY gross. Murder, cannibalism, etc. So if you don't like stuff like that, you should probably skip this book in the series.
