This is a great book in the Wings of Fire series that takes place 2000 years before the rest of series! I think it's really important to read it before book nine if you are reading the rest of the series, but if you haven't read the other books you can read this one without any prior Wings of Fire knowledge. It's about three powerful dragons, each with their own special powers, who become the most important and powerful dragons in the dragon world. I enjoyed it just as much as the rest of the series.
