Beast: A tale of Love and Revenge by Lisa Jensen

This book is like a re-telling of Beauty and the Beast. This book is a bit shorter, it's only around 300 pages. But you will burn through them really quickly. There are a lot of plot twists in this book. The perspective of this book is one of the maids that serve in Château Beaumont. After being mistreated (severely) by the master of the house: Jean-Loup, Lucie vows to see him suffer. With the help of a mysterious magic, the Chevalier is transformed from handsome to beastly (literally). But soon after, Lucie realizes that Beast is nothing like Jean-Loup. He's kinder and has remorse for the wrong done to Lucie. And Lucie basks in this, until a beauty with the power to break the wonderful spell that brought this creature to life. This book is even better then the Disney version, the plot twists are more like sharp turns that you have to keep reading, rather then slow circles. Make sure to read this one. But also be careful because it includes brief sexual action in the beginning. But this is one happily ever after that you won't roll your eyes at.

In a Glass Grimmly by Adam Gidwitz

Would you recommend this book? If so, who would you recommend it to, and why? If not, why not

Yes, I would recommend this book. This book is about Jack and Jill. Not like the young kids fairy tale but the real story of them. This series can get kind of gruesome, but it's an amazing series. I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars. I would recommend this book to people who are 11 and older.

Read a book that takes place in a country other than the United States.

Which minor character in this book would you like to know more about? If there were a whole book about them, what would it be called?

If I could read a book about any minor character in this book, who would it be? Hmmm... Well, Veronica is sort of a semi-main character, but I would like to know a lot more about her. I have so many questions! Is she part fairy? What is her story? That is a book I would want to read. If someone wrote this book, I think it should be named "Strawberry Soul" because of her magic-ish strawberry shaped and colored stone.

If you could rewrite one part of the story, what would you change?

My one problem with this and the rest of Ales Flinn's twists on fairy tales is that the characters are not diverse at all, which makes it harder for me and others to really relate to the story, since certain people (including my self) don't see themselves represented. I would make this book more diverse, and also change the ending to something less cliché .

This is the 5th book or 2nd to last book in the "Land of Stories" series, and possibly by far the best one {coming close next to the last one OF COURSE}.

Now that all the "MONSTER" have combined forces and taken over the "Fairy -Tale" land, its up to the twins to go INTO Connors Stories and get HIS HEROS/MONSTERS to fight BACK the MONSTERS!

I would TOTALLY recommend this book. Not is it only as remarkable as the four other books in The Land of Stories series it has just as much excitement and comedy inside it along with amazing new characters and Connors stories.

I would not recommend this book because of two reasons. The first reason is this book is kind of dull in a no action way. The second reason I do not like this book is the plot kind of feels like a fairy tale.

Hush (an Irish Princess' Tale) by Donna Jo Napoli

What would you want to see happen to the characters after this book (or the last of the series) ends?

Hush is the story of an Irish princess who is sent away, and captured on a slave ship. Her sister escapes, but she cannot, and is treated terribly. Her one weapon is silence. After this book is over, I would want to see Melkorka reunited with her sister. This book has some sexual parts.

If this book were a food/color/song/smell, what would it be and why?


Ella is a girl who is cursed with the "gift" of obedience. Ella's mom dies, and she is sent to a boarding school along with her two wicked "stepsisters". She runs away. Ella has a relationship with Prince Charmonte, but is worried that if she marries Char, the kingdom will collapse because she could do anything she was ordered to do (like kill Char). If this book was a color, it would be pink, because pink is bold and powerful, but also a little weak.

What character(s) in this book would you most and least like to be friends with, and why?

My favorite characters are Rory and lena. In real life I'd probably be friends with lena and darcy. I can't say too much, without spoiling the first book. But an amazing series. Sometimes you may be confused, but it is great. I'm even considering, writing my own book. See what else is new.

Leaping Beauty and other animal fairytales by Gregory Maguire

If this book were a food/color/song/smell, what would it be and why?
this book would probably be greenish- blueish - brownish. green for grass, blue for the sea and sky and brown for the ground. for food this would probably be a bark and worms burger. Animals eat what they eat. it sounds gross to us but to them it probably would seem like a cheeseburger. For probably one of those nature sound tracks the teacher to make kids quiet. Smell, dirt, nature,wet dog. read this book. Go sixth grade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


What else is new?
This book is a lot like Zootopia, that amazing cool movie Disney released in March 2016. If you've never heard of it go right and look it up and watch. this book connects to the orginal fairy tales but animal style. Party like an animal while watching Zootopia and/ or this book.

A Tale Dark and Grimm by Adam Gidwitz

A Tale Dark and Grimm is such a great page turner! I couldn't put it down! There are 3 of them. I read the one about Hansel and Gretel. The book is basically a bunch of fairy tales mixed together in some way to connect with Hansel and Gretel. But these fairy tale endings are none like you have heard before. Instead of the Disney ending, there is blood and gore and death. I strongly recommend this book, and for you to also read the other two.

Rapunzel's Revenge by Nathan Hale

First of all, the Nathan Hale that made this book is not the original spy Nathan Hale.

This Nathan Hale has also made the comic book series "Nathan Hale's Hazardous Tales" which I won't talk about now.

When Rapunzel is locked up in a tower and her hair grows wild, she decides to escape and meets friends that she promises to help. Rapunzel hates stealing, and wants her mother so bad she will do almost anything to get her back. A warm, friendly cast of characters mixes with a cast of characters that have been turned to the bad side by Gothel, the terrible 'queen of the lands' with her growth magic.

"Ain't that dandy," says Rapunzel.

If this book were a food/color/song/smell, what would it be and why?
The Courageous Princess and the Dragon is a story about a princess being kidnapped to a tall tower away from her parents (like Rapunzel XD). She the lives with her cruel aunt, and she doesn't make her escape. How can she?

Food: Takis:) because they fight a lot
Color: Black and Red because those are the colors of battle
Odor: Some sort of bad smell

If this book were a food/color/song/smell, what would it be and why?
If this book was a food it would probably be a dumpling because on the cover and start of this book you do not really know what it is going to be about and with a dumpling you might not know what the filling is. Then Surprise! You are hooked to the book and everything comes to life like when you reach the filling of a dumpling, the surprise is found yet the dumpling still tastes amazing.
