Amal Unbound by Aisha Saeed

This was a really powerful book. Amal wants to be a teacher, but her dreams are ruined when she accidentally insults (without knowing who he is) Jawad Sahib, a member of her Pakistani village's ruling family. As punishment, she has to leave her family and go work as a servant at their estate. Jawad Sahib is a really bad persona and Amal is becoming aware of the deadly measures he will take to stay in power. She realizes that he will never lose control unless somebody is brave enough to do something. It was very compelling and I recommend it
