Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer

It's an intriguing story, with twists and turns. The plot is exciting and Artemis is truly a child genius. The genre is realistic fantasy fiction because there are fairies, but it's realistic because the author wrote it so that it could be going on right now and you'd never notice. HIGHLY recommended.
