To Amy every one has a flavor. her mom is the flavor of mint - sharp and bright. her dads flavor in like hot chocolate - sweet and full of gentle warmth.
Amy lives in a mining colony out in deep space, But when her dad loses his job they were forced to move to earth. Amy says goodbye to her best friend Jemmah and climbs into a crytube where she will spend the next 30 years frozen in state of suspended animation, hurtling in a rocket towards her new home. Her life will never be the same, but all she can think about is how when she gets to earth Jemmah will have grown up without her.
When Amy arrives on earth, she feels like an alien in a strange land. the sky is beautiful but gravity is heavy and the people are weird. Strangers still is a boy she meets at her new school- a boy who has no flavor.
space boy is a sci-fi drama about a high school girl who belongs in a different time, a boy possessed by emptiness as deep as space, an alien artifact, a mysterious murder and a love that crosses light years.

Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur
In the book Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur, it has different poems mostly short but very powerful. The book is divided into different chapters equally as incredible as the last. The poems range from relationships, feminism, and beauty standards. The poems leave you speechless giving her the title of the best poet you've ever heard of. Although her book plays hard to get, it’s all worth it in the end.

Locomotion by Jacqueline Woodson
This book is about a boy named Lonnie Collins Motion. When he was 7, his parents died in a fire. Now he's 12 and is living with a new family and goes to school. In school his teacher, Ms. Marcus is teaching Lonnie and his class about poetry and how to put their feelings on paper. Now, with poetry, Lonnie has a new way to show the world about his life, friends, his little sister, and that fire that took his parents. I really enjoyed this book, and how it's all poems from one point of view. Some of the poems are funny, some are sad, some are just about Lonnie thinking. My favorite poem, however, is "All of a Sudden, The Poem",on page 53. It's my favorite because it makes me laugh. But, overall this book was awesome and I hope you enjoy it too! - Emma

Comfort by Carolee Dean
Comfort, is about a boy named, Kenny Willson who wants to run away from Comfort, Texas. His dad is alcoholic, and his mom made him quit the football team, so he can work at her cafe. She makes him work really hard, and she doesn't pay him a penny. There is a lot of drama and poetry in this book, so if you like those kinds of books, your gonna love this. - Anusha
