REBECCA OF SUNNYBROOK FARM BY KATE DOUGLAS WIGGIN

Rebecca narrated this book. This book is a first-person narration. The narrator was a reliable source of information, considering this book was about her own life. This book takes place around the late 1800s to the early 1900s in Riverboro. The message of this book is that you don’t have to feel trapped in an imaginary life and dream about what your life could become but live it with freedom and then you will realize you will enjoy it better. The genre of literature is a classic.
This book is about a ten year old girl named Rebecca Randall. Rebecca gets sent to live with her aunts when she is ten years old because, her mother cared about Rebecca’s education. Her aunt Miranda did not want her, she wanted Rebecca’s older sister, Hannah instead. However, her aunt Jane was a loving, kind person and she loved that Rebecca could stay with them. Rebecca felt all alone in Riverboro, until she meets the Cobbs and her best friend. Mr. and Mrs. Cobb love how sweet Rebecca is and soon treat her like a granddaughter. Emma Jane is her best friend in the whole world.
I really enjoyed this book, because she listens to her heart and becomes a young lady. I would really love to read more by this author. I would encourage others to read this book because, it is fascinating and I think a lot of people will love this book.
