Hero on a bicycle by Shirley Houghes

Which minor character in this book would you like to know more about? If there were a whole book about them, what would it be called?

I would want to know more about Paolo's father, because he came home at the very end of the book, and it never had a chance to talk about where he had been! If it was made into another book, I'm not sure what I would call it because I know so little about him.
