Heartbeat was an amazing story in the form of poems. I think the character in this book that I would most want to be friends with was Grandpa. He was a truly wise and kind character who supported Annie through hard time. I also think that Sharon Creech did a wonderful job shaping his character. The character that I would LEAST want to be friends with, on the other hand, was the running coach. She was incredibly rude and would not take no as an answer.

I'm going to camp today! Also, I read Heartbeat a little while back with my class, but then decided to re-read it since it was so good.
