The Pact by Jodi Picoult

Yesterday, I began reading "The Pact" by Jodi Picoult. So far, it's quite interesting, I just wish Jodi hadn't went off and killed another character. Anyway, this story is like the anti-Romeo and Juliet type of story. There are these two teens, Chris and Emily who have grown up together ('cause their parents are besties) and fell in love. Yet some point in their relationship, Emily gets shot. Chris is saying it's suicide, the prosecution is saying it's homicide. It tears the two families apart and I am guessing it's going to lead Chris to commit suicide himself. The dude is depressed that the love of his life is dead, so it wouldn't be a surprise if he does.

I guess I would suggest the book but so far it's a drag. Nevertheless, Picoult (my new obsession!) always starts her books off with a drag and ends them with a big bang. So let us see what happens!

This second book to a teriffic series will take readers on a roller-coaster ride. Literally. A horrific event that occured in book one (because of mr.terupt) strengthened the bonds between teacher and pupil, forever. The principal of snow hill elementary noticed this unusual bond and the students stay with Mr.Terupt for a second year. The student look forward to the school year but not the end of it. One particular student plans on getting kicked back, but unfortunatley for that student that task is impossible to accomplish in Mr.Terupts class.

My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult

Normally, I try to stay away from books that eat me up inside and make me feel sick.

Normally, I read those type of books. Which is why I really want to suggest to stay away from Jodi Picoult, unless you are one of the many people out there who love reading heart wrenching books like "The Fault in Our Stars." "My Sister's Keeper" is along the lines of a heart wrenching and somewhat depressing book.

"My Sister's Keeper" was suggested to me by my very energetic English teacher, Ms. P. She encouraged me to buy it on our school trip back from Pennsylvania. I had previously read a Jodi Picoult book, "Nineteen Minutes" and thoroughly enjoyed that (I recommend it, but it is sad). So it seemed harmless to read a book by her again.

Boy, was I wrong. Before we even made it back home from the trip, my math teacher was telling me how sad it was. My classmates tried to convince me into not reading it because they thought it was bad. I had already bought the book and had eight hours until we got to school. So I opened up the book and began to read.

This book isn't your typical, "My sister has cancer and my life is horrible and I wish she could stay alive but she can't blah blah blah." It's pretty funky. Picoult takes such a complex and controversial subjects such as stem cells, emancipation, and designer babies into a book about love, sisterhood, and whether a child is any smarter than an adult.

Picoult does an amazing job crafting this book. The characters really bring out the meaning of the story. Anna's desire to be free from the constant hospitalization for her sister, to her sister's almost suicidal thoughts makes you think what in the world is wrong with Picoult.

I would love to recommend this book, but at the same time I wouldn't. It's painful and very sad. I am warning you, if you decide to read this book be prepared for that bumpy and emotional roller coaster.

With twelve kids in the family, Edith has to learn what her talents are. She already knows it has nothing to do with being a waitress, (having to do with the fact that her dad practically slaves her to do work at his diner) she thinks maybe she wants to be a teacher. Edith has a lot of struggles trying to figure out where she belongs in this large family.
when a tragic accident happens with Marvin,her youngest brother life seems to change more for her.


This novel is both dramatic and breath-taking leaving you in a lot of thought about what happens next.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix by J.K. Rowling

This amazing story (5th in the Harry Potter series starts off like any other. You know a kid being hated by his Aunt and Uncle for being a wizard and oh yah, defeating the world's evilest "man" 4 times. Oh, whats that? You have never heard of this? Then I think it is pretty clear that you have most definitely haven't read the other Harry Potter series. I enjoyed this book just as much as all the other book (maybe a little more) making my rating 5+1/5 stars. Spoiler alert: The death of a great fellow brought tears to my eyes you to find out more.

Keep up with those movies and an eye out for the 6th book in the series, my personal favorite, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince also written by Ms.J.K. Rowling herself.

This fascinating extremely adventure filled story is a thrilling delight. This book is the fourth in the Harry Potter series after The Sorcerer's Stone, The Chamber of Secrets, and the Prisoner of Azkaban. This book has a shaky, different plot. It's not exactly similar to the other Harry Potter books.SPOILER ALERT:Keep your eyes open for Cho Chang. I give this book a 5/5 star rating

Make sure to watch the movies that are extremely vivid but sometimes not exactly, and be on the watch for the next book in the series, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix also written by J.K. Rowling.

Fablehaven is about a boy and a girl, Seth and Kendra, who go visit their grandparents while their parents go off on a cruise. They receive 2 rules. Not to go in the barn, and not to go in the woods. But even though there are consequences for breaking these rules, they break them. Soon enough, they are confined to their room. But with the 3 keys their grandfather had gave them, they soon discover a book with only 3 words inside. Drink the milk. One day, Kendra finds Dale, someone who helps tend the land, saying that the milk is poisonous. So instead, she makes Seth drink the milk, and they see a whole new world inside Fablehaven.

This is the third book in the Harry Potter series. Like all the other ones it is full of action packed mysteries and fantasy. This book comes after Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. This book although I have seen the movie at least 17 times always has secrets I discovery every time I read it again. I would recommend going over it a couple of times. I also give this a 5/5 star rating.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the 2nd book in the Harry Potter series after Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. It does not disappoint. J.K. Rowling continues to show her talent through her books and keeps her fans joyful. Harry continues his trouble making and solves mysteries through dangerous quests. I really loved this book and would give it a rating of 5/5 too.

Well, this is a thrilling story full of mixtures about wizardology and about anything except for a ORDINARY kid. It has a fascinating plot with a few bumps with turning points and (spoiler alert) an ending full of irony. It is a delightful tale of a boy lost in his world and left at the feet of his uncle and aunt after his parents suffered a terrible end. This kid grows to learn the wonderful secrets of his past and who he truly is. Read the book to find out more about who he really is and what adventures will he go on. I give this book a 5/5 star rating.
