Lakshmi is a 13 year old girl who lives with her family in Nepal. She is poor but she lives a happy life. But when a monsoon washes away her family's crops she has to take a job in the city. Her stepfather tells her she is going to be a maid. But when she gets there she learns that she has been sold into prostitution and the only ways he can leave is if she pays of her family's debt. But the person in charge is cheating her so she can never leave. Will Lakshmi ever return to her old life or will she be stuck being a prostitute forever. - Alia
