Would you recommend this book? If so, who would you recommend it to, and why? If not, why not?
I would definitely recommend this book. I would recommend A Mango-Shaped Space by Wendy Mass to anyone who likes Realistic Fiction told from the point of view of a girl who is very different from the other people in her family, or rather, different from almost all of the people she knows. Everyone thinks that Mia Winchell is just a normal thirteen-year-old, but really, Mia has something called synesthesia. When other people just hear a sound, Mia sees colors and shapes that differ depending on the sound she hears. Letters and numbers also have a color for her, a different one for every letter or number that she sees. Mia has learned to hide this ability, but now she must come to embrace her full synesthesia abilities. Find out more in A Mango-Shaped Space by Wendy Mass.
