This book is about how Esperanza realizes that her life can't be amazing all the time, and when her life is amazing she cherishes it, instead of looking at the future, esperanza lives in the moment. Until the world forces her into traveling to California where they are used for farm workers. Esperanza isn't used to working so hard. Later on in the story, Esperanza figures out a way to resolve the difficulties.
