The Moon and More by Sara Dessen

I expected a lot out of this book, but it wasn't as great as I hoped it would be. In this coming of age story, Emaline tries to figure out what she wants with her boyfriend, father, and life. She goes from being the perfect girl who got into Columbia, has an amazing boyfriend and friends to the girl who got into Columbia but can't go because her father is a really mean guy who lied about tuition, broke up with a jerk of a boyfriend who cheated on her after three years of commitment, friends who are struggling with their own romances before college, a ten year old half-brother who is great with real estate, and a summer fling that hopefully won't last (I know, that was a really long sentence). Overall, it's a fun quick read (400 pages does count as quick) with some romance but a lot about discovering who you are and how you affect the people around you.

Sarah Dessen did a good job with this book, but compared to her other books (Along for the Ride, This Lullaby, etc.) this one wasn't amazing.
